David Rose is a professor of economics at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. His work focuses on the influence of ethics and culture on the evolution of economic behavior, economic systems, political systems, and the law. He also works on the evolution of business ethics and firms. In addition to a variety of scholarly articles he has written two books: The Moral Foundation of Economic Behavior (2011) and Why Culture Matters Most (2019). He frequently contributes to policy debates through public speaking, media interviews, and Op-Eds in outlets like the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, The Word on Business, The School Choice Advocate, Forbes, The Washington Times, and The Christian Science Monitor. He is a member of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission.His bachelor’s degree is from Missouri State University and his Ph.D. is from the University of Virginia.
