// Airports and Transportation

Dallas-Fort Worth has two major airports. DFW Airport, located 30 miles (50km) from the hotel, is one of the world’s largest and busiest airports with nonstop flights to many domestic and international cities. Dallas Love Field (DAL), located 35 miles (56km) from the hotel, is primarily served by Southwest Airlines.

While transportation from the airport to the hotel can be pre-arranged with a limo service, taxis and ride-share companies (Uber and Lyft) are the easiest and cheapest methods of transportation within the city. A taxi from the airports to the hotel should cost around $60-70; Uber/Lyft are about $40-50. It is about 40-60 minutes from either airport to the hotel, depending on traffic. Public transportation is not practical in Dallas-Fort Worth.

// Registration/Information Desk

The registration and information desk is located on the second floor of the hotel in the Post Oak Foyer.

// Dress Code

The dress code is business or cocktail attire for the opening and closing receptions/dinners, business casual for conference sessions, and casual with walking shoes for Wednesday’s excursion.

// Weather

Texas weather is highly unpredictable. The average temperature in May in Fort Worth is 83F/28C for the high and 64F/18C for the low. It is not uncommon for the high temperatures to be over 90F/32C though. May is the rainiest month of the year for the region with an average monthly rainfall of 4.9in/12.5cm.

// Name Badges Required

All participants will receive an identification badge at registration. Please wear your badge at all times including the meeting sessions, receptions, meals, and excursion. If you lose your badge, please visit the registration desk for a replacement.

// Press Policy and Social Media

We understand that attendees may want to take photos for personal and social media purposes; this is allowed but the content of talks and other private conversations is not be posted on social media.

// Safety

Downtown Fort Worth is generally safe, but it is the center of a large city, and the usual precautions are recommended. Do not leave personal possessions unattended and avoid walking alone in the area, especially after dark. The Mont Pelerin Society and the organizers accept no liability for lost or stolen property or personal injury.

// Money

There are some money change operations at DFW Airport, but we recommend using bank ATMs, which are widely available at the airport and in the area near the hotel. Almost all businesses accept Visa/Mastercard/Discover/American Express.

// Electricity

The electricity voltage is 110/120V. International visitors may need to buy an adapter for the socket.

// Dial 911 for Emergency

Please call 911 in the event of an emergency requiring medical or police attention. For non-emergencies, the Fort Worth police number is +1-817-392-4222.
